FILE FORMATS: For AutoCAD users, dwg files open directly into Graphisoft's ArchiCAD at 1 to 1, with the same pen colors and layers. AutoCAD files sent to The Drawing Studio need to be modified in the following ways: 1) Don't send complete construction documents when all The Drawing Studio needs is one room, send only what is required: a plan with paving, walls, furniture; a reflective ceiling plan showing lighting locations; major elevations (particularily of building exteriors). 2) Delete defpoints, fills, bubbles, references, title blocks, room names/numbers, mechanical, electrical, plumbing indications and other useless layers and information. Merge layers into simple groups like: walls lines, floor pattern lines, plants, furniture, reflected ceiling, fills, etc. 3) Save as AutoCAD R-14 dwg or dxf. . If The Drawing Studio doesn't recieve the proper information in a clear and concise way, it will cause delays. Remember, our goal is only to produce for you, beautiful illustrations and produce them on time, not to get boged down in useless paper work. CAD Files: Preference 1: ArchiCAD 6.5 or lower. Preference 2: AutoCAD dwg file format, R-13 or R-14. Preference 3: Dxf file format. Digital Images: Preference 1: Photoshop version 5.0, tiff. Preference 2: PSD version 5.0, pict. Preference 3: PSD version 5.0, jpeg or gif. . DISK FORMATS: It is best to not compress files because they may become corrupted. Therefore, we recommend using CD's, DVD's, Iomega Zip cartridges, 2 GB Jaz cartridges or Syquest cartridges for transferring files. All cartridges will be returned to the sender. E-mail smaller files (800k). . Compression Formats: Preference 1: Do not compress (send on a CD). Avoid delays created by corrupt files. Preference 2: ZipIt (PKZip). Do not create executable files (.exe).![]()
